That time I analyzed my female Facebook friends by appearance

I took all the female friends on my facebook list, removed the 5 family members and 4 fake profiles and was left with 193 different ladies. I then, objectively as possible (based on physical appearance alone…no points for being nice), rated each girl on a scale from 1-10. PS, this is not graded on a curve and there are no 10s cause that shit is just unreasonable.

The average turned out to be 5.6 with a standard deviation of 1.8. I was expecting to see the average come out around 5 and was surprised to see it this high.

Going further

I decided to go a step further and place each lady into one of four groups. Based on what I knew of that female (which in some cases was limited to minimal Facebook interaction) I determined the maximum level of relationship I would ever be willing attempt with that female (disregarding all current roadblocks including marital status or sexual orientation of said female). The 4 groupings are self explanatory:

1. Acquaintance - For someone I prefer as a Facebook Friend at the most. These ladies are the one I avoid in person interaction with.
2. Friend - Platonic friend, you know what that means so don’t play dumb.
3. Datable - I only use this term because I felt cheesy putting “hittable” on an excel chart but I really mean hittable.
4. Girlfriend Material - This is the highest rating and needs no further explanation. This is also known as “super hittable.”

By Race

I broke it down even further by race. I used Asian, Black, White and Hispanic as my groups…yes I know that there are a whole lot of generalizations there but I don’t really have the time to sit there and get more granular than that. You’ll just have to live with it. Here are the ratings and then by race:

Takeaways:

1. I am slightly more attracted to the Asian and Hispanic girls on my list than I am to black and white girls on my list.
2. When it comes to girlfriends, the late Crief’s rule of 7 or better holds true for me.
3. If I think you are ugly, I probably wouldn’t mind not being your friend.
4. The proportion of gf material level girls across all races was fairly close, with a slight edge to Asians and Hispanics.
5. I prefer being friends with Black and Hispanic girls on my list over the White and Asian girls. *Note: the Asian portion of my friend list has a large percentage that actually live in Asia which limits my ability to interact with them and had a strong influence on their classification.
